+++ Powerful attunement to Christmas +++ | We Are Christians

Heidelberg, 16.12.2017. The organizers counted roughly 400 visitors on Saturday when the gates were opened for the Christmas Charity Concert of Kreis Aramäischer Studierender Heidelberg e.V. (KRAS) in cooperation with We Are Christians – Aramaic Charity Organization e.V.
His Eminence Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Archbishop of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch in Germany, took the opportunity to listen to the heavenly sounds of Syriac-Aramaic Christmas music together with us. He was greeted with widespread applause of Father Aziz Can, parish pastor of the Church of Our Lady in Leimen.
Jonathan Taube, Chairman of the Aramaic Students Association, welcomed the guests of the Heidelberg city church, which was filled up to the last places.

The guests were guided through the program by Isabelle Örüm and Josef-Christof Demir.
Among the speakers was Davut Aslan, chairman of the council of the Syriac Orthodox Diocese in Germany, who, together with His Eminence, took a long journey from Paderborn to accept the invitation. Furthermore, Daniyel Demir, chairman of Bundesverband der Aramäer in Deutschland (Federation of Arameans in Germany), gave his Christmas speech to the audience. Then Prof. Werner Arnold clarified the closely linked history of the Arameans with the history of Christmas.
We Are Christians was represented by the adviser of the charity organization, Dr. Josef Önder.
Impressive vocal pieces were given at its best by Isa Budak, Johannes Kuray, Gudo d`Mor Balay under the direction of Malfono Lahdo Can, Julius Joseph, and Nora Agirman.

We would like to sincerely thank Kreis Aramäischer Studierender Heidelberg (KRAS) for the professional organization, and all visitors and supporters for the sympathy and the donations.
The proceeds will go to the orphanage project in Homs, Syria.
